Stephen H. Orel is of counsel to the firm. He concentrates on commercial, corporate, real estate and insurance litigation, often involving cooperatives and condominiums.
Mr. Orel has broad experience in litigation and advice involving the insurance industry, including issues of coverage for defense and indemnity under commercial property, fidelity, commercial general liability and directors & officers liability policies, particularly as they relate to cooperatives, condominiums, and their respective constituents such as shareholders, unit owners, boards and sponsors. A member of the bars of the states of New York and New Jersey, he is also admitted to practice law before the United States Supreme Court and the United States Courts of Appeals for the Second and Ninth Circuits, as well as all federal district courts in New York and New Jersey.
Mr. Orel graduated cum laude in 1984 from the University of Pennsylvania Law School, where he was an editor of the Law Review. His undergraduate degree is from Cornell University (1981).
