Mr. Mogil is a seasoned litigator, focusing his practice on commercial disputes and estate litigation.
Mr. Mogil began his career in the Kings County District Attorney’s Office, prosecuting violent crimes as an assistant district attorney assigned to the Grey Zone (Trial Bureau III). He indicted, and successfully prosecuted, violent felonies and complex fraud cases. Then, as a prosecutor in the Violent Criminal Enterprises bureau, Mr. Mogil co-led a long-term gun trafficking investigation, with the aid of state and federal law enforcement agents, culminating in the largest gun trafficking indictment in Brooklyn’s history (and second largest in the City of New York).
After leaving the Kings County District Attorney’s Office, Mr. Mogil focused his practice on the representation of estate fiduciaries in Surrogate’s Court matters. Mr. Mogil has represented the Public Administrator of the County of New York in administration, accounting, probate, and miscellaneous proceedings before the Surrogate’s Court. Mr. Mogil also represented executors, administrators, beneficiaries, and heirs-at-law in all facets of estate-related disputes.
Prior to joining SSRGA, Mr. Mogil was a senior associate in the Commercial Litigation group of an AM 100 firm in New York. Mr. Mogil specialized in complex commercial claims, representing directors and officers of public and closely-held corporations accused of fiduciary-related misconduct including, but not limited to, allegations of corporate waste, fraudulent misrepresentation, and misappropriating trade secrets. Mr. Mogil successfully defended a breach of fiduciary duty suit before the United States Court of Appeals, Second Circuit, which affirmed the District Court’s dismissal of all claims.
Mr. Mogil received his Bachelor of Arts degree from SUNY Binghamton in 2008 and his Juris Doctor from New York Law School, where he graduated magna cum laude and was a member of the New York Law School Law Review.
Mr. Mogil is admitted to practice in the State of New York, the United States District Courts for the Southern and Eastern Districts of New York, and the United States Court of Appeals, Second Circuit.
